Ladies Learning Code

The Vancouver Chapter of Ladies Learning Code was the first-ever Chapter to launch outside of Toronto in 2012, and has been a cornerstone of our national Chapter community ever since. Today, the Vancouver Chapter is a thriving hub offering workshops and part-time technology education programs to hundreds of women and youth each and every year. In 2016, the Vancouver Chapter is expanding their lineup of programming to include our Digital Skills Part-Time program, a 7-week course designed to equip women with key technical skills to help advance their careers — and this is only the beginning of many big and exciting growth opportunities coming up for Ladies Learning Code Vancouver!

Black Boys CODE Presents – Learn to Build a Web Page in a Day

Designed for boys age 8-17 and a pre-requiste for follow on titles our workshop will provide instruction on how to design and build a website. The workshop is designed to encourage student-driven learning, as participants think analytically, design, play, and code in real-time. National Learn To Code Day

On September 24th, 2016, Ladies Learning Code is hosting its fourth annual National Learn to Code Day — the first and only event of its kind in Canada. On that day, over 1,500 Canadians will gather together in over 25 communities to challenge themselves to learn a new skill: interactive storytelling and game making using HTML & CSS.

Tableau Training: Telling stories with data

This two-day, hands-on workshop with award-winning data journalist Chad Skelton will teach you the fundamentals of Tableau, the world’s leading data visualization software, as well as the principles of good data storytelling.
